Pressure superposition, Guangdong clothing industry tries its best to solve the problem
Novel coronavirus pneumonia is the main predicament of Guangdong garment enterprises. The industry research report of Guangdong clothing and apparel industry association, jointly with the Guangdong Fashion Designers Association and Guangdong Fashion Industry Economic Research Institute, has recently revealed that the problems of supply and marketing, inventory backlog and tight funds are the main predicaments facing the Guangdong garment enterprises. With the resumption of major professional markets, industrial clusters and garment enterprises in Guangdong Province, next, how to let the industry out of the trough has become the biggest test facing the garment industry in Guangdong Province.

Guangdong garment industry gradually realizes orderly resumption of work
The survey of Guangdong clothing industry was conducted for 273 enterprises, 8 industrial clusters and 6 professional clothing markets. In the survey, 71.2% of the enterprises reported that at present, the upstream and downstream enterprises in the industrial chain are not in sync with each other, resulting in poor supply of raw and auxiliary materials and poor sales channels; 54.8% of the enterprises reported that the sales of offline physical stores are stagnant and orders are delayed and defaulted, resulting in overstocked inventory and tight working capital.
As of the first ten days of March, 68.5% of the enterprises participating in the survey have gradually returned to work, accounting for 37.8% of the number of workers under normal production; 31.5% of the enterprises have not yet returned to work due to various reasons. Most enterprises will return to work in full by the end of March, and about 10% of them will return to work in full by the end of April.

Garment enterprises generally reflect that in the process of returning to work, the company is faced with many difficulties and problems to be solved, such as asynchronous return to work, reduced orders, blocked return of workers, poor transportation and logistics, and lack of protection resources.
From the perspective of the resumption of work in the professional market, as of the beginning of March, 5 of the 7 representative professional markets that participated in the survey have resumed work, including Baima clothing market, red cotton international fashion city, Guangzhou textile trading Park, Xintang clothing trade city and new China building. The medium and large cloth market, led by Guangzhou International Textile City, has not yet resumed its work, and the 13th party, Meiyi city and hongfutian clothing wholesale market are still waiting for the government's notice. Xintang clothing trade city, with e-commerce as its sales feature, took the lead in returning to work on February 20. The resumption of professional market is of great significance to the recovery of the whole industry, and is the most important first step for the resumption of production in the clothing industry.
Take multiple measures to resolve the market pressure brought by the epidemic
On March 25, bu Xiaoqiang, President of Guangdong clothing industry association, attended the 47th epidemic prevention and control press conference held by the press office of Guangdong provincial government, and answered questions from reporters.
At present, more than 60% of the key textile and garment professional markets have opened in Guangdong, but a series of problems such as the decline of the buyer's passenger flow, the poor circulation of goods and the shortage of working capital still hinder the recovery of the market. To this end, Guangdong clothing industry association has played a role of bridge and link, timely guide, communicate and coordinate, and reduce business pressure for merchants through rent reduction.
Before that, Guangdong clothing industry proposed to launch the "Guangdong clothing together still" activity, which promotes the industry's resumption of production from three aspects. At the same time, an online consumption promotion platform of "reading goods" was set up, with 15 online platforms including jd.com, tmall.com, 1688, 41 textile and garment manufacturers' associations, 10 textile and garment professional markets, 39 media and 10000 campus trend promoters from more than 30 universities actively participating in it.
However, although clothing is one of the most penetration categories of e-commerce, the Internet can not replace the traditional way of cooperation between upstream and downstream industries. A fashion designer told reporters that although the clothing market has experienced 20 years of e-commerce, the offline entity wholesale market of Zhongda textile business circle is still thriving.
Consumption plays an important role in promoting the recovery of industrial chain
At the end of January, all 59 professional wholesale markets in CUHK textile business district were postponed to open. By March 9, Guangzhou textile trading Park was reopened, becoming the first market in CUHK textile business district to welcome the reopening. In more than one month, the downstream garment factories failed to get the raw material supply, which affected the recovery progress of the whole industrial chain.
In addition, the relevant person in charge of the fabric supplier also said that in previous years, the three months after the resumption of the Spring Festival is the most important month of the whole year for the merchants, because the turnover of these three months will account for 35% of the total turnover of the whole year, and the turnover of the other nine months will account for 65%. So throughout the year, the company is ready to lose money.
In order to reduce the adverse impact of the epidemic on the clothing industry, Guangzhou has launched 15 measures in February to reduce the two-month rent of small and medium-sized micro enterprises and individual businesses operated by offline commercial stores in Guangzhou. At present, the rent has been reduced by 830 million yuan. The reporter learned that the red cotton fashion city, Chengda Fashion Square and Wanjia clothing wholesale market all announced specific policies on rent reduction and exemption. In addition to the two-month rent exemption in some markets, the rent from April to the second half of the year also has certain discounts.
"At present, there are two main factors affecting the clothing industry: one is that the epidemic has affected the passenger flow; the other is that the crude oil price war in the international market directly affects the global financial and consumer markets." At present, the most important thing is first to restore the confidence of clothing businesses, and then to stimulate the domestic clothing demand, and the way to pull must have a handle, "not to increase the production of factories, but to effectively stimulate the demand of domestic consumers for clothing."
